What Does Intermediate And Parabasal Squamous Cells Indicate?
My smears test showing intermediate and parabasal squamous cells. Endocervical cells are present. Moderate amount of polymorohs and Doderlein bacilli are seen. Can you please advise of the next step following this result. I am 43. Thanking you in advance and I do appreciate your support.

Hello In my opinion your pap smear report indicates some kind of inflammation could be due to infection.You would need symptomatic treatment only, do consult your doctor for further management. However the presence of intermediate and parabasal squamous cells are not of concern as they are the normal components of pap smear and are appropriate for your age. Doderlein bacilli are also the normal component of pap smear. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
