What Does It Mean To Have Fever And Vomiting In A Child?

my 4 year old has been vomiting since yesterday morning on and off. she also has a fever between 101.3 and 103. I was able to get the fever down but she still complained about her throat. Looking at it I noticed she has many small red dots on her tonsils, uvula and nearby areas. Is it strep or caused by the vomiting?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your daughter is not well. Though we often think of stomach ailments which n discussing fever and vomiting, the throat findings indicate it could be something else. Self limiting viruses can cause this, however, so can strep throat, as you mentioned. Strep must be treated with antibiotic. Therefore, I recommend you cinsykt with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment plan implemented.
