What Does Memory Loss Along With Chills And Fever Indicate?

Hello, My 80 year old father has recently had more severe memory loss as well as recurrent chills with a spiked fever -- he hadn t told any of the family about this until recently - He said he had noticed the blank spaces in his memory for about 2 years -- he was embarrased to mention it -- but even forgettign a funeral for his sister in law from 2 months ago and his first grandsons wedding that he was in last may -- He has been under an enormous amount of stress with my mother having two heart surgeries during ths time and then developing MG and needing his care heavily -- They also moved from one home to another which was traumatic within the past 6 months ---- ---- He had been very sharp cognitively until this onset with no Alziehmers in our family . He is a ranch and business man and a biker -- still riding 2-3 x weekly 15-20 miles-- He has lost alot of weight lately as well. Is it possible this is stress induced ?
