There might be small scattered areas of T 2 hyperintensity in the brain as found on MRI scan. This appearance might be due to many causes. First it can be due to decreased blood flow through the small channels in the brain. It can also be due to loss of myelination of neurons in the brain. Lastly there can also be an inflammation of blood carrying channels called as vasculitis. Clinical examination is most important.
