hi Doctor, i m Mansoor Anwer Sir Recently i got my mom Mri Reports and there is mention the 1- Intra and extra Axial CSF spaces are prominent. 2- Abnormal signal intensity foci are seen in bilateral periventricular regions, left midbrain and pons and in bilateral cerebellar regions appearing hypointense on T1WI and hyperintense on T2WI and Flair. No mass effect or midline shift seen.... Can You Explain it Clearly what is this and how we treat now and What to don next.. Thanks! Mansoor Anwer
Hyperintensity in T2 and hypo T1 can be caused by a variety of factors including ischemia, micro-hemorrhages, gliosis, damage to small blood vessel walls, breaches of the barrier between the cerebrospinal fluid and the brain, or loss and deformation of the myelin sheath etc.
Depending upon the history and clinical examination diagnosis may vary. please consult your neuro physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
