General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The pain is due to compression of spinal nerve by protruded disc.

As a first line management you can take drugs like gabapentin for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. In severe cases you might require steroid injection to the spine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
