What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

My daughter is 17 years old. Very fit & athletic 5 7 /125 lb. She started experiencing extreme back pain during Volleyball her freshman year. We have seen orthopedics, chiropractors, & many other Drs. Her MRI shows 3 bulging disks, but the orthopedic said she is too young & healthy for this to be the source of the problem. Something else is triggering. We found out her SI joint was out of place but she d have to get it popped back in every other day just to finish the VB season. The ortho thinks the problem is growth plate related & she will out grow it. She has been done with volleyball for 5 months now & the pain is not any better. She hurts to bend, sit, or stand for any amount of time. I am at my wits end in trying to get correct diagnosis. She leaves for college in a few months & I ve got to get to the bottom of this.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It can be a rheumatological disease like unilateral sacroiliitis. I think you have to check with a rheumatologist doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Klodian
