Re: Please explain results of mri of ankle impression:Evidence of split tear of the distal peroneous brevis at and beyond the perineal tubercle of the calcareous with an intact insertion. No complete disruption or avulsion identified. Mild fluid within the anterolateral gutter with an in tact slightly attenuated anterior talofibular ligament.
My name is Dr Muhammad Ahmad & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.
Here i will explain the results of the scan to you in detail
(1):Evidence of split tear of the distal peroneous brevis at and beyond the perineal tubercle of the calcareous with an intact insertion.
MEANING: a muscle (named peronius brevis)has some damaged but it did not detatch from the bone so no big issue
(2)Mild fluid within the anterolateral gutter with an in tact slightly attenuated anterior talofibular ligament
MEANING: just a bit of fluid collected near ankle(thats because of trauma and muscle damage and its not a big issue) other joint is saved.
CONCLUSION:
in my opinion it's a good news yours muscles and ligaments and other structures around ankle join are safe and it will not need any surgery and intervention in my opinion just immobilization of joint and rest for some day will make you well and good soon.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing you good health
