Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
history of severe headeche for the past 5 days. MRI revealed two ring enhancing lession in left temporo-occipital region with early periphereal calcification and perilessional vasogenic oedema extending into parietal lobe. suggestive of grannulomatous lession likely tuberculomas. what is the treatment for this condition. can you suggest any neurologists in kolkata
I have gone through your MRI report and as the report shows ring enhancing lesions so the first possible diagnosis is tuberculomas i.e tubercuolous infection of the brain. The treatment for this disease is Anti-tuberculous Therapy along with steroids for 12 months.During the duration of your treatment you will be required to run repeated LFTs, RFTs,MRI and visual acuity tests to monitor the side effects of the drugs and status of disease. I would suggest you consult your local neurophysician for detailed clinical evaluation and further management accordingly.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
