What Does My Anomaly Scan Report Indicate?

Hi.. I m 21weeks pregnant.. I had done anamoly scan last week it shows baby organs are normal in size but the weight of my fetus is 278gms.. There is diastolic notch in left artery.. Doctor prescribed me an injection to take for removing that notch.. but I m scared to follow that injection.. Is this notch affect my baby growth? Is it necessary to take injection or it can be cured through tablets?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The report is suggestive of aortic arch development abnormality and which has to be treated by injectable medications of Indomethacin analogue or else to cover it. There are no medicines for this and you have to undergo injectable therapy for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
