I want to know what the following report means in layman's terms. I have an x-ray findings: There are persistent coarsened institial lung markings, with moderate bronchovascular congestion again. No new infiltrates are seen, No pleural effusion is seen. The heart size is stable. Impression: persistent interstitial congestion again. No acute pneumonia or failure.
Persistent coarsened interstitial lung markings with moderate bronchovascular congestion may be due to inflammation, infection like bronchitis, age related, early heart failure etc. You need clinical correlation and only require conservative treatment. You may need antibiotics, steroids depending upon findings. You should consult your doctor and avoid dust and smoke. No active pneumonia is noted. No pleural effusion is seen. The heart size is also normal.
Get well soon. Hope I have answered your question.
