What Does My Liver Ultra Sound Scan Findings Below Indicate?
Hello Dr. Narasi,
How bad is the prognosis when Patient is suffering from Chronic Hepatitis B, now Liver US shows: Mildly enlarged in size (14.4 cm) & shape with homogenous parenchyma. Parenchymal echogenicity is reduced with prominent perioportal echoes and coarse parenchymal echotexture.
Report suggests liver is mildly enlarged in size.In this case it may be due chronic hepatitis. Chronic hepatitis is evident by presence of prominent perioportal echoes and coarse parenchymal echotexture. Patient need proper clinical examination and few investigations.Investigations include routine hemogram, liver function test and fibroscan.
Fibroscan is done to assess elasticity of liver cells.Prognosis can be guessed from fibroscan.
Get well soon. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
