Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a mammogram done and they want me to go back for another one because there is scattered areas of fibroglandular density in left CC projection in the posterior subareolar breast there is a small focal asymmetry. Can you please tell me what this means. Thank you.
Hello dear I understand your concern In the younger age, the breast is composed of glandular tissue Once you become older glnd convert into the fat. The presence of scattered fibroglandular densities in the mammogram may be a expected according to age. But follow up after few weeks to know its behavior. As it could be due to cyst, fibroadenoma and neoplasia so follow up is required to know any progress. If you feel any lump then USG guided FNAC is required for better confirmation. Hope this may help you
