My Sister had some bleeding went to dr. there was no heart beat at 10 weeks and hormone level was 7 weeks. She had to have a d&c. The diagnosis on the pathology report said Uterine contents: Immature chorionic villi and fetal membranes. Scant fetal tissue identified. Decidua with focal acute inflammation and necrosis What does this mean?
According to USG findings, there are no signs of fetal life. Fetal heart beat is not seen.It should be visualized by 10 weeks of gestation. Pathological findings suggests focal inflammation in fetal membranes and there are very less fetal tissue. Villi(through which fetus gets nutrition)are also not properly developed. These findings may be due to intrauterine infection.
