i did semen - MCS and these are my results Gram stain; Leucocytes - 1 per HPF Leucocytes - scanty Erythrocytes - scanty Neisserian Organisms - Not observed Bacteria - Gram negative bacilli Fungal elements - not observed Trichomonads; Trichomonads vaginalis - not observed Culture; No pathogenic bacteria, Candida species and Neisseria gonorrhoeae not isolated. pls Doc what do these results mean
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of the semen analysis is as follows: There is presence of white blood cells in the semen. This suggests presence of infection. Red blood cells may be present in case of infection. There is presence of gram negative bacteria- these are rod shaped bacteria which take do not take up gram stain. Specific bacteria- Neisseria sp, trichomonas and fungus are all absent in semen.
You need to take antibiotics to clear the infection. Consult your doctor with this report.
