What Does My Thyroid Lobectomy Results Indicate?

I am 59 y/o female w/recent thyroid lobectomy and results that showed 3.5 cm follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma with focal capsular invasion but neg surg margins and a satellite lesion of 0.5mm micropapillary thyroid carcinoma. The lesion had extensive solid component and oncocytic (hurthle) cell changes. I think that completion thyroidectomy and I131 will be recommended. If I do all this what is my prognosis. Are the solid and hurthle cell changes bad? What is my survival chances if I am fully treated? Thanks.

Hi, I have gone through your question. I can understand ypur concern. You have papillary thyroid carcinoma. it is most common type of thyroid carcinoma. And it has relatively good prognosis. Hurthal cell changes are quite common.so don't worry for that. if you are treated fully then there is very good chance of your survival.it has good prognosis. So dont worry. Just take proper treatment.
