I had spinal anasthaes I had spinal anaesthesia for a hip replacement and suffered bi-lateral numbness in the outer upper thigh area which lasted for 15 months. The numb areas are now regaining sensation and are, in fact, slightly tender. Could you comment on this situation, please? Many thanks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The numbness for this much long duration is might be due to temporary nerve damage and it will regain slowly no need to worry much about this issue until you shows some other symptoms. If you want you can do USG Leg to rule out the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
