Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It has been about 3 weeks since getting a very minor dog bite (dog was up to date on its vaccinations and the bite hardly broke the skin, instead of looking like a bite, it looked more like a scrape from pavement) and the wound has healed up completely. The bite never swelled up or looked red, but even so, many weeks later, I experience burning pain when I move my arm in certain ways (typically positions where the skin is being pulled taut). Is this cause for concern?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Since the wound due to dog bite appears to be minor from your description, it appears that the symptoms what you are complaining of is not much of major concern. You can cleanse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily and apply moisturizer cream over it. Your symptoms should gradually reduce and you should be back to normal in about 10 days to 2 weeks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran.S.
