Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have musclel/nerve pain around my rib cage, back, sides, feel like charlie horses but are so extremely painful, last about a minute then ease up. so constant now cant bend to tie shoe without starting spasm, cant turn, etc. my dr says its fibromyalgia which i have been diagnosed with years ago, but never like this..im sorry cant do this now, as i have no money.
Hello,
It might be advisable for you to have some tests to try and find out the cause of the muscle spasms and if the tests come out normal than we can think fibromyalgia is a possible cause. I would recommend you to have the following tests: - electrolytes (Ca+, Na+, Mg+, Cl-) and creatinine - general metabolic profile like fasting glucose, lipids, CBC, ERS, ALT, AST, bilirubuine, etc. -TSH
Meanwhile you can take Magnesium supplements daily as it is found that they reduce muscle spasms and make sure you drink enough water during the day (average 2 liters of water a day)
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
