What Does Pain In The Tonsils Indicate?

Hi. I have a wisdom tooth close to the nerve my dentist told me it need to be removed but I don’t have no pain at all. But yesterday I had pain in my left tonsils I when to the doctor he told me I had a bad tonsils infection and prescribed me antibiotics for five days I want to remove my wisdom tooth but I’m scare seen the dentist tell me that is dangoures if they touch the nerve but my question is the infection of my tonsils is bc of my wisdom tooth is infected but in the other side I don’t have no pain I’m very scare and confused what should I do Doctor.

Hello,

If there deep-seated infection it might spread more than you think it will. It might not be painful but deeper inside where your tonsil is infected will pain. If you keep these foci of infection, then it's relatively dangerous than you getting it removed. Yes, there could be nerve injury, but in all procedures, there will be some risk we need not bother because very less percentage of people get into a complication. Hope you won't get any complication and get your wisdom teeth removed.
