What Does Pap Smear With Superficial And Intermediate Squamous Cells With Lactobacilli In Background Mean ?
What does this mean.?Pap smear shows superficial & intermediate squamous cells with dense infalmatory cells & lactobacilli in the background. Endocervical cells are seen. There is no evidence of dysplasia/malignancy in smear studied. Impression- Inflammatory smear.
Hello and welcome to Health Care Magic Forum The pap smear report is very close to a normal smear - there is no cancer or any of its precursors. lactobacilli are normal bacteria. Dense inflammation might suggest a local infection of the cervix or the vagina. If there are any symptoms of foul smelling or curd like vaginal discharge or any itching tell your GYN. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to worry about on the smear.
