Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just got my MRI results and on one portion sella, the results read: partially empty sella. Pituitary stalk is midline. The reason for MRI, vision loss in right eye, starting end of June. Optic nerves are enlarged. Headaches, nausea and eye pain associated. Going to see a neuro at the end of August.
A visit to the neurologist is a must as the scan suggests-
1. A portion of the pitutary gland has got degenerated because of probably lesion pressing against it. Thus, giving headaches and loss of vision.
2. When space-occupying lesions press against the gland or radiation, such a thing is noticed.
3. However, at times it is seen in a minor percentage of mostly women population also.
I would suggest visiting the neurologist at earliest and starting the treatment. Nowadays health sciences have advanced drastically so kindly do not worry. It will all go well with treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
