What Does Pelvic Ultrasound Showing Endometrial Hyperplasia Mean?
I have just had an pelvic ultrasound with the result saying apprearance of endometrial hyperglacia. Endometrium is 21 mm thick. What does this mean and what treatment can i expect. periods are normal lasting 4 days with abdominal pain for the 1st day only. I do not have heavy bleeding during my periods. I have lower back pain for the passt month and pain in the left side of the pelvic area. Ovaries are normal as per report. Thanks
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Endometrial hyperplasia means - multiplication of the endometrial cells causing the increased thickness. 2.In this case you can get a repeat ultrasound done after 1 week time to rule out proliferative phase ( in which the thickness is increased) 3.If it remains same, a endometrial scraping done and sent to pathology to rule out any growth / malignancy. 4.Its also seen in case of inflammation of the endometrium. in which an antibiotic treatment is enough. 5.Visit your GP and get the needful tests and treatment done. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
