Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi.. ive been spotting for 14 days now and was advised by my OB to take duphaston twice a day and im on bedrest now but my little spotting didnt stop.. do i have to worry? it is not accompanied by cramping.. i dont feel any pain except for the little spotting.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Spotting in early weeks of pregnancy could occur due to lack of proper quantities of hormone progesterone. If care is not taken during this time, it could land up in miscarriage. Duphaston contains 'dydrogesterone', which is a synthetic progesterone, and is used to treat a variety of conditions resulting from a lack of endogenous (naturally produced) progesterone. You need to take adequate physical rest and avoid strenuous activity along with intake of medications as advised. Also, eat healthy foods and drink good quantity of fluids. You need to undertake an ultrasound scan of abdomen as will be advised by your doctor at a later date to know the progress of pregnancy. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
