What Does Polypoid Mucosal Thickening Along The Floor Of Right Maxillary Sinus Mean?
i have felt thickening of facial skin in righ part of my face and strain in the right half of body. i went through a MRI of head on the suggestion of doctor. this report says polypoid mucosal thickening along the floor of right maxiallry sinus . what does this mean?
The polypoid mean like blebs and in your case there is thickening of the mucosa in the right maxillary sinus. The cause is usually allergic or can be bacterial infection. If this is chronic and the finding is after the attack of sinusitis that has resolved on treatment before MRI then only can explain thickening of the right facial skin. Should not really cause strain on the right side of the body. The treatment depends upon whether you are already taking treatment and if not then do the following: Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical correlation with MRI report. Get started on medicines as would be suggested by him. Avoid allergen that may be causing you sneezing or so or it can be asymptomatic.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
