Hello, I was medically tested for visa purpose and found Hbsag positive and Hbeag negative.what does it mean?and lft is normal Do I have Hepatitis B or not? Please tell me whether I m medically cleared or not? Will I get visa or not? Please tell me.I am much worried.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. HBsAg is the surface antigen of the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Positive test indicates presently you are having hepatitis B infection. Positive HBsAg tests can be due to recent vaccination against Hepatitis B virus. However, this positivity is unlikely to persist beyond 14 days post-vaccination. HBeAg is envelope antigen and is a hepatitis B viral protein. Positive test is an indicator of active viral replication and states the person is infectious. It means the person infected with Hepatitis B is likely transmit the virus on to another person. Your test results states that you are positive for Hepatitis B but not in infectious state. You can be treated with antiviral medications and interferons. Kindly consult Physician with the reports for evaluation of the same and further management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
