Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

I am not aware how IgA nephropathy was diagnosed then. If biopsy was done, diagnosis is definitive.

Ig A nephropathy will cause hematuria following minor febrile illness like respiratory infection or gastro enteritis- this is expected only.

Just follow your doctors advise, regularly monitoring blood pressure, serum creatinine and urine protein loss. Avoid drugs causing kidney injury like NSAIDs as far as possible.

Recent ultrasound was done following an episode of UTI(which is the common practice in pediatrics) and findings are almost normal. Renal pelvis size.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
