What Does Presence Of RBC, Urate Crystals And Uric Acid In Urine Mean?
hi doctor..My brother (6 years old ) did a urine analysis at the morning in which the results show everything normal except RBC [8-10] with positive amorphous urate crystals and few uric acids and mucus (+ +). What does this reveal ? Is there something to worry about? thanks in advance
The 8-10 red blood cells are not normal. It is called hematuria condition. Additionally, there is the presence of uric acid crystal.
So there is a chance of presence of urate Stone in the urinary tract causing urinary tract infection.
I suggest you investigate further with blood uric acid estimation, USG scan abdomen and pelvis with special emphasis on kidney and ureter.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
