What Does Proliferative Breast Disease With Mild Atypia Mean?

Hi,
I Mr. Seshagiri Rao Vaka from hyderabad. My father had a pain in left chest exactly under nipple since 3 months.
He undergone treatment for pain from genearl Physcian. Even though after taking treatment he is still having pain.
So doctor suggested to go for MAMMO Graphy test for further evaluation.
Kindly have a look at the below reports and give me advice for further evaluation.

MAMMO Graphy test Report:
Nodular opacity with irregular outline noted in retroareolar region on left side.



Rest of the left breast parenchyma normal.



Right breast appears normal.



Scrring ultrasound suggested an irregular hypoechoic lesion in the left areolar region.



Suggested FNAC for further evaluation to rule out possibility of malignancy.









CYTOLOGY REPORT



F N A C - Left breast



MICOSCOPIC EXAMINATION:



Sparsely cellular smears show clusters of ductal epithielial cells. The Cells show crowding and overlapping. Cells have round to oval nucleus. There is mild atypia.



IMPRESSION: Proliferative breast disease with mild atypia.



Kindly consider it as urgent and give me an advice ASAP.

Going carefully through all reports swelling in left breastfeeding is most likely malignant. You have not provided age of your father. I would like to know habits of your father like smoking, alcohol.
If he is smoker or there is history of radiation therapy chances of swelling to be malignant would increase. I would advice excision biopsy of lesion and histopathological examination of specimen. If it turns out malignant please consult oncosurgeon for further management.
