What Does Protein In Urine Indicate?

i have 56mg protein in urine, only a trace before, but none last year, so then had a blood test cmp kidney blood tests all are normal so why did i ,my have protein in urine blood pressure was elevated at 168/ 86 , always goes up at doctor I am on lisinopril 10mg should i start taking 20mg lisinopril instead.

Hi,

Hypertension may can cause proteinuria. It indicate glomerular damage. You have to control blood pressure first then it may have to come down slowly. Yes ace inhibitors are useful to decrease the proteinuria. Please consult your physician he will examine and advice appropriate antihypertensive drug.
