What Does "bronchovascular Markings Are Increased-bronchitis" Mean?
A close friend has been detected with tubercular lymphadenitis. His chest x ray report says" both lung fields bronchovascular markings are increased-bronchitis". My question is has the infection reached lungs? Is it contagious? Will people close to him shud get a test done for d same n take BCG vaccination?
No,it doesn't mean that T.B infection has reached lungs. Increased bronchovascular markings may be due to other reasons like bronchitis(bronchitis may be due to smoking, allergy etc). Generally patients having open cavity lesions are more infectious, however in your friend case also,if any close person develop symptoms then person should be investigated thoroughly.B.C.G is not indicated in adult person. Hope i have answered your query.
