What Does "inhomogeneous Opacities In Left Mid Zone" In A Chest X Ray Indicate?
c/o-chronic cough -1month with fever loss of appetite..C-XRay suggest inhomogeneous opacities in left mid zone s/o- ?consolidation..laboratory report-(1)CBC-normal (2)ESR-02 at the end of one hour (3) mauntox test - negative....kindly suggest the final diagnosis
There appears to be lung infiltrates in the left lung mid zone area. If the ESR and mantoux test are normal then focus should be on an acute on chronic respiratory infection first. You need to take a course of broad spectrum antibiotics and follow up with your doctor. Another X ray chest might be indicated after ten days to see response to treatment or increase in infection. If unresponsive to treatment then cultures need to be done from your sputum and blood to get the correct diagnosis.
