My son (3 years) has multipls peripotal nodes in his stomech. He recently had a ULTRASOUND scan due to stomach pain and it showed multiple enlarge hypoechoic rif and mesentric nodes on 1 side of his stomach. size is 20mm.Urinalysis and blood work came back as normal - Could this be cancer? Valerie

Periportal and enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes may be due to many visceral pathology.These lymph nodes are the draining sites and get enlarged due to distal pathology.It should be clinically correlated.
