What Does "no Free Fluid Seen In The Cul-de-sac" Mean?
i go for my first ultrasound tommorow and they see only intrauterine gestational sac is 15.5mm coresponding 5 weeks and 4 days and fetal pole is not identified but i am 8 weeks pregnant and they also write in paper that there is no free fluid is seen in the cul de sac.. what is that mean ?
No fluid in cul-de-sac means you DO NOT have pelvic infection; this is a normal finding, nothing to worry. What you do have to worry about is whether your fetus is viable or not. At 8 weeks, fetal heartbeat is distinctly seen. This report shows 2 possibilities: either you are not sure of the date of your last period, or possibly you have a missed abortion. What you need is a repeat scan after 2 weeks to be sure your baby is alive.
