What Does "thin Rim Of Fluid Is Noted" Mean In A Lab Report?

i had a pathology test on the 24th of july, my last period was on 9th july, my uterus and ovaries are normal , with mo asnexal mass seen bilaterally,but my report says that a thin rim of fluid is noted in POD(Post ovulatory). what does this mean, we are trying for a baby

Thanks for writing in.

The POD (pouch of Douglas) is an area behind the uterus and is usually empty. At about the time of ovulation which is 14 days from onset of periods there may be a little fluid which can be seen in the POD. This is perfectly normal and there is no need to get anxious. The presence of fluid in POD signifies that an egg is released and that is the best time to conceive.
