What Does "unusual Configuration And Some Radiolucency At 1st And Second Right Ribs" Means?
My cervical x-ray shows unusual configuration and some radiolucency at 1st and second right ribs. This test was done because of back pain. What are common possible causes for this x-ray finding?
Thanks in advance, as I am a bit concerned . I am a 47 year old female.

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. Looking at the x-ray features, my opinion is as follows: 1. Radiolucency usually means soft tissue involvement - you do not have any bone problem 2. Unusual configuration - It means probably inflammatory condition.
Further tests are necessary such as fine needle aspiration cytology for confirmation and treatment. Discuss with your doctor for further tests.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
