What Does Reflux Oesophagitis In Endoscopy Report Suggest?

Hello Doctor,
My friend is suffering from grade A influx oesophagus.The endoscopy report is as below-
GRADE A REFLUX OESOPHAGITIS/ LAX LES FUNDAL MUCOSAL PROLAPSE. OG JUNCTION 38 CMS.The doctor told to go for a 24hrs test and may be surgery after that.However the patient is not wiiling to go for a surgery.
Could you please advise us whether the disease can be cured by medication or not.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The endoscopy report suggests that the junction of esophagus with stomacg is lax or loose.
The lax or loose junction is not able to function properly.
The function of this junction is to prevent bak flow of contents of stomach back into the esophagus.
When this back flow occurs, there are symptoms of gastritis or burning sensation.
Surgery is required to repair the loose or lax esophageal-stomach junction.
Medication will not be able correct this defect.
Medication can only provide symptomatic relief to reflux of gastric contents back into esophagus.
