What Does Reticular Infiltrate In Lungs Mean?

I had a pulmonary function test recently and part of the results said: ....there is a reticular infiltrate present in both lungs unchanged from the previous chest. I don t know what this means. Could you please explain in words that a sweet little old lady can understand?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Reticular pattern on chest x ray can be seen in
1. Interstitial lung disease (ILD)
2. Interstitial pneumonia (viral)
3. Old healed scar etc.
Since your reticular pattern on chest x ray is static with comparison in previous x ray, no need to worry. As this must be old healed scar lesion.
As ILD and pneumonia will worsen if not treated.
So static reticular pattern suggest healed lesion only.
