I had a pulmonary function test recently and part of the results said: ....there is a reticular infiltrate present in both lungs unchanged from the previous chest. I don t know what this means. Could you please explain in words that a sweet little old lady can understand?
Thanks for your question on HCM. Reticular pattern on chest x ray can be seen in 1. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) 2. Interstitial pneumonia (viral) 3. Old healed scar etc. Since your reticular pattern on chest x ray is static with comparison in previous x ray, no need to worry. As this must be old healed scar lesion. As ILD and pneumonia will worsen if not treated. So static reticular pattern suggest healed lesion only.
