Hello,
You are suffering from severe pain in the abdomen after appendix removal. It is normal to have pain in the lower right side of your abdomen for a few days after the surgery. It is important to treat your pain as soon as it starts. You can take
acetaminophen or ibuprofen, one SOS when needed. You have not mentioned if you had a
laparoscopic surgery or open
appendectomy.
Pain in the shoulders and neck is normal after laparoscopic surgery. Pain after appendix removal is commonly due the gas put in the abdomen during surgery. The pain can last for a few hours or 1-2 days. Try to move and walk so that your system functions well. Moving around is good for you and it will help you get your strength back, pass gas, and get your blood flowing properly.
Avoid getting constipated you can take high fiber food or any
stool softener. Drink 6 -8 glasses of water each day. Take bath after the stitches/paper tapes are removed, make sure the incision is healed to prevent
wound infection. This may take about 7-10 days. Right iliac severe
abdominal pain after appendectomy maybe commonly due to perforation, abscess formation, infection, etc.
Other causes of pain after appendicectomy is bleeding, blocked bowels, injury to closed organs, Infection and inflammation and swelling (inflammation) of the belly,
peritonitis, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get tests and imaging tests done. Get treated at the earliest.
