What Does Shadow On Back Of Brain In CAT Scan Indicate?
Hi there, my father in law has been awaiting an MRI scan in hospital for the past 5 days. He recently under went chemo and radiotherapy for lung cancer, with good results. His vision started going and he can no longer talk properly, a cat scan has shown signs of a shadow on the back of his brain. Does this always go hand in hand with brain cancer or could a shadow indicate something else? Thank you
Hello dear, in view of your father being diagnosed as having lung cancer and chemo and radiotherapy for the same, a shadow in brain CAT scan with problems in speech and vision most probably indicate metastasis from a lung cancer. Possibility of having brain cancer cannot be ruled out and it is advisable to consult to a neurosurgeon as soon as possible.
