What Does Sharp Pain Around The Spleen Area Indicate?

I am a female, age 66. Last night I was awakened with a very sharp stabbing pain that lasted about 10 seconds, as if a long knife pierced me at the area of my spleen. Pushing on that area gentle since this morning is a bit sore,but not distractingly so.

Hello,

Left upper quadrant abdominal pain can be there in many kind of conditions like GERD, splenic infarct, hepatic flexure and colon pain, myocardial ischemia.

You don't have to worry if it is not bothering you much but you can get an ultrasound scan done to rule out any splenic condition and not worry much.
