What Does Sharp Pain Behind The Neck Indicate?

Back of neck at shoulder level creates sharp pain, hurts when I swallow. Goes away immediately. I m 76 years old and have no difficulties swallowing. First time for me. I do pull downs on a nautilus machine. Also, was born with a cist on the left side of my neck. Older brother had one on his right side of neck and had to have it removed when he was in his 70 s.

Are you still having that cyst if yes then its size may increase? It can be compressed nearby tissues and nerve which cause this pain?
