What Does Sharp Pain In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?

I have been having super sharp pains in my lower left abdomen ( mostly, sometimes the right side too) and my lower back, and also sometimes in my rectum. Though the pains in my rectum aren t sharp. I don t have insurance, but it s not quite bad enough for a hospital visit

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your question in HCM. Sorry to hear about your symptoms. Sharp pain in lower abdomen are either suggestive of renal colic, urinary infection or colitis. It is difficult to come to a diagnosis only with the history. However, do you have any burning sensation in passing urine or is there any constipation? Usually, if it is renal colic or urinary infection, drinking plenty of fluids and taking antispasmodic will help the pain to subside.
If the pain doesn't reduce kindly visit your local doctor for further investigation.
Get well soon.
