What Does Sharp Pain In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?
I took morning after pill 2 months ago. I had 2 periods in last month. But in this month I haven t got it. But I feel Sharp pain in lower abdomen, pelvic area and back. Me and my partner both are clean of any std. I did pregnancy test it came out negative. What is this pain,is it something to worry about or just a side effect of the pill? ( I didnt experience any menstural cramps or pain before. )
hi mam, symptoms you had been experiencing may be due to premenstrual hormonal influence.it may occur after emergency contraception(morning after pill).usually pain subsides with the onset of menses or may continue for 2 menstrual days.normal cycles of course return in 1 or 2 months.if you have same pain during menses even after 1 month or if menstruation won’t resume, you need to go for an ultrasound scan of pelvis to rule out any uterine or ovarian abnormalities.one important thing you must know is emergency contraception works only for 1 period of unprotected intercourse and the next time, you go for an intercourse you need to have some barrier contraceptive to avoid conception.hope i’m clear.any further queries, please write to us.i’m always there to guide you.thank you.wish you and your family a very happy, healthy and peaceful new year 2018.take care.bye.
