What Does Sinus CT Scan Indicate And How To Treat It?
Result of my sinus CT scan shows crenulated appearance to the mucosal surface of the inferior turbinates and to a lesser degree middle turbinates which could represent small polyps or polypoid mucosal thickening. What does that mean and what should I do to address the problem?
Small polyps or polypoid mucosal thickening of middle and inferior turbinates of nose is due to chronic sinusitis. Due to chronic inflammation, mucus lining of turbinates becomes thick and it may lead to formation of polyp. It is important to know the status of other sinuses. You require treatment for sinusitis.Nasal steroids, decongestants and antihistaminics should be prescribed. You should also avoid allergens.
