What Does Some Black Spots Or Specs In Stool Mean?

Hello I have one question: i noticed some black spots or specks in stool, i have a colonoscopy scheduled for 1 week. What does some black spots or specs in stool mean? I am also taking some over the counter probiotics and that has seem to help with abdominal cramps and taking a general laxative for contipation. Could the black spots be a form of bacteria and parasites??

Hello,

Black colour stool is mainly due to presence of blood in the stool.
The source of bleeding is usually the upper Gastrointestinal tract.
If the bleed is from lower gastrointestinal tract then there will be presence of fresh blood.
Bacterias are not visible to the naked eye.
