What Does Spot On The Bone Behind Knee In MRI Indicate For An Anemic?
I had an MRI of my knee and they found a suspicious spot on the bone behind my knee. I am anemic and they said it could have something to do with that. I was wondering if you could help explain this better, I do not understand how my anemia would cause a spot on my knee.
Hi, thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. In anemia, body has a deficiency of RBCs, The RBCs are made in the body by the red bone marrow. As we grow older the red bone marrow gets converted to yellow marrow as the requirement for RBCs decrease. In your case, as you are anemic the yellow bone marrow can get converted to red bone marrow which is called marrow reconversion. So most likely the suspicious spot can be because of it. Hope it sorts your problem. Regards, Dr. Pankaj Nagori Specialist radiology
