What Does Swelling Around An IV Insertion Site Indicate?
I m a Iv user and always use new stuff but recently the other day I woke up and noticed a lot of swelling and bruising granted I do not always administer great as I poke around a lot sometimes but at injection site there is heat and swelling with hardness it feels like hardness is patchy and going away and swelling slowly reducing I cannot afford doctor what can I do to help it over the counter and monitor it
Okay, so there is a swelling at the injection site along with signs of inflammation; which suggest you have got an infection due to prolonged IV use. I would suggest you to take the following treatment
Tab ibuprofen Diclofenac gel
Don't use the IV for a few days
put some ice as well
keep the bruise away from any contact
