Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday the veins on the inside of my wrist swelled unexpectedly in about a two inch area. I m not sure if I injured it, because I had been carrying groceries. At first there was a burning feel to it, but I applied ice and this morning the swelling had subsided, but the are is discolored and getting lighter. Could this have beena blood clot of a hematoma. I am on Xarelto, 20mg. once a day.
Yes, probably some small to middle sized vein got ruptured leading to the sudden swelling formation. Nothing to worry. Check with your local physician once to get your coagulation profile studies done to make sure it is normal range.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Abhishek Kumar
