What Does Swollen Hard Spot Behind The Ear Of A Toddler Suggest?
My 2 yr old has a swollen hard spot behind his ear. He also has developed a low grade fever. He doesn't display any runny nose or sore throat. He's normally a very active little guy but the last 2 days has wanted to rest frequently. Is this something to worry about?
Understanding your concern. As per your query swollen hard spot behind the ear of a toddler along with fever is mainly due to inflammation or infection of lymph nodes in neck which is causing systemic symptoms in child. I would suggest you not to panic about it. Give child crocin every 6 hourly to prevent fever. Give combination of anti-inflamamtory and antibiotic drugs. symptoms will resolve in one week. If symptoms keeps on persisting Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Give child warm compressors as well to reduce swelling. Sip on warm water after every hour. Avoid giving any carbonated beverages to child.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
